I started High Vibe Vacay because the trips I remember most were the ones where I felt present: outside early, eating well, moving my body and surrounded by beauty. I first wrote this post in November 2023. This update, as of October 24, 2026, explains plainly how we choose places and how planning works.

What does "high vibe" mean at High Vibe Vacay?

Quick answer

It depends on who you ask, so here is our definition. A high-vibe trip is one that scores well on our six values and leaves room for presence and beauty: unhurried mornings, time outdoors and places made with care. It's how we choose places, not a promise of how a trip will make you feel. How a trip feels is yours.

What are the six values?

It depends on the place which ones shine, but every stay is scored on all six using public sources: Connection with Nature, Vibrant Food, Local and Sustainable, Conscious Movement, Inspires Awe and Wonder and Clean Energy. Each place page shows its scores and links the sources, so you can check them yourself.

What are High Vibe Rituals?

It depends on what the property publishes. High Vibe Rituals is a badge, not a seventh value. We add it only when a property's own website lists something like a meditation space, breathwork, a sound bath, a sunrise or stargazing ritual, or rooms without TVs, and we link that source on the place page. Post Ranch Inn, for example, lists outdoor meditation among its daily activities. Read more in the FAQ.

How does the food standard work?

It depends on the kitchen. Our standard is gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free friendly: we look for kitchens that say on their own pages they cook for special diets, and we note what we find on each place page. We always suggest telling the property ahead of time, and we never promise a kitchen can meet every need.

Is a High Vibe Vacay a group retreat?

It depends on how you like to travel. Most trips are planned just for you, whether you go solo, as a couple or with friends. If you'd rather join others, we also list guided trips and small-ship sailings. Either way, you choose the pace; there is no set program unless you want one.

How does planning a trip work?

It depends on how much help you want. Use the planner to share where, when and what matters to you. You'll see "request received," and a High Vibe Vacay advisor will reply by email with ideas. Nothing is booked, and no card is taken, until you say yes. Questions go to allie@highvibevacay.com.

Which places show this best?

It depends on the landscape you love. Post Ranch Inn on the Big Sur cliffs, Soneva Fushi in the Maldives and Kona Village on Hawaiʻi Island are three places on High Vibe Vacay that score well across the values and carry the High Vibe Rituals badge. Each place page shows its scores, photos and sources.
